9-12 graves marked only by ground depressions or field
stones. Cemetery located at top of hill at end of Stover Hollow
Road, Scarbro, WV |

Yoney Cemetery has about 12 unmarked or field stone marked graves and is rumored to be very old. The Yoneys had a farm pretty early in the 1900s on past the cemetery westward toward where Plum Orchard Lake is now. The farm was located on Sweetwood Creek as best I can find out and access was either through Sweetwood Hollow or Wingrove Hill. Both locations have a dirt road leading in that direction. - List submitted by BJ Bernath Jan 8, 2005 |
